Our Lives on Standby

Some choose to live their lives on standby,

While others choose to fly high,

Some spread their wings and soar to the sky,

While others sit on the side and watch them pass by.

Some worry about the day ahead,

While some enjoy today instead,

Some live life on the sideline,

While some dive into it like a fine wine.

Well it’s time for me to choose who I want to be,

And take the path that is best for me,

Wouldn’t it be a wonderful sight to see?

All of my dreams played out like a movie.

I know one day I will prevail,

If I’m not scared to take a chance and fail,

Of course one day my ship will sail,

Don’t know when only time will tell?

But unlike a princess in a fairytale,

I won’t wait for a prince to make me well.

I’m going to live life likes there’s no tomorrow,

Forget every pass tragedy and sorrow.

I’m going to do things that make me feel good,

Do things just because I could,

and not always because I should.

Now what is your choice for future years?

Do you plan to be held back by your fears?

Or are you willing to shed blood, sweat, and even tears.

I’ve made a decision for me,

About the person I want to be.

What about you,

What do you want to do?

Do you want to spread your wings and soar to the sky?

Or sit and watch the rest of us pass you by.

Do you plan to fly high?

Or just live your life on standby.
