Flipping The Script

Well recently a friend and I were having a conversation about the arguments that she has with her boyfriend; where no matter what responsibility he holds for fucking over their relationship, he is always able to turn it on her. Of course she was upset because her boyfriend hasn't been attentive in their relationship for a while, but when they argue he damn near convinces her that she is to blame.
Now I know many women have experienced this with men(hell men have experienced it with women or women with women and men with men, I'm not judging), no matter how right you really are, you are wrong. Plain and simple you will lose your breath trying to argue with them and they will be on their death bed claiming innocence unless you learn to recognize and utilize the art of flipping the script.

WTF?
What is flipping the script? The ultimate excuse that can damn near acquit a person for murder if they got like that; but for all intents and purposes in this blog it's defined as making the wrong the right?

Example

You say: Baby you don't come to see me no more

He says: You don't come to see me no more either

You say: You claim to always be busy when I call

He says: You always call when I'm busy

You say: Are you cheating on me

He says: You're gonna push me to cheat with how you acting

Now you had some legit complaints and concerns, but that conversation got nothing accomplished Why? You say, because of good flipping the script tactics baby.
(1)Now a good flipping the script tactic is to start your answer off with the term you, as no not my fault but yours.

Ex:
Question: Why weren't you home last night?

Your flip the script answer: You didn't tell me you wanted me home last night.

(2)It is also smart to answer the question with a question, therefore not answering a damn thing at all

Ex:
Question: Why were you out so late last night?

Your flip the script answer: You think that's late?

(3) Confidence and resilience is key. You have to sound like you really believe the bullshit that you're selling, so you need to sound confident in your retort. Also it's important to never concede to defeat and that takes resilience especially when you know your wrong.

Double Flipping:
How to beat a flipper at their own game? Simple, flip back. The same methods that we use to flip can easily be applied to a double flip. Let's use a example from earlier,

Ex:
Question: Why were you out so late last night?

Your flip the script answer: You think that's late?

Double flip answer: You don't think that's late?

Now see what you just did you beat the flipper at their own game thus allowing you to equal out the conversation and allow you to get back to your earlier question, which should be your ultimate goal.

Warning: Good Flippers will argue in circles and never get anything accomplished

...But it is good to be the flipper in the relationship

Peace love and Soul

Welcome to Girl World (Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 Vol. 1)

Welcome to Girl World

Prologue

“Stop!” I screamed as I tried to get away. “Please stop.” I cried out and continued my struggle in vain. “Why?” I asked God as with tears streaming down my face. For a moment I felt myself starting to give up and just wait for my punishment to be over, but then it dawned on me that I would probably die here if I didn’t escape. That is when my fire returned and I really began to fight and scream for help. For a split second I got one hand free and jabbed my nail into his right eye. “Bitch!” He yelped in pain as I tried to escape out of the back door. I managed to get the door open, but right as I went to step out he pulled me back inside and proceeded to choke me. I kicked and punched and clawed at his face and arms, but nothing seem to work. My vision began to fade and I felt my body going weak. I continued to kick and scream as each hit grew weaker and weaker. I gasped frantically for air but couldn’t find any; As my body went numb and my eyes closed I had concluded that this was how my life was going to end and then my eyes closed and the white light came.

Chapter 1

Meet the Girls

Shani

It’s been 3 weeks since the school year started, just 3 weeks and I already need a break. It’s my senior year and instead of having fun and being a Lazy ass senior I’m simply stressed. My name is Shani Burgess and I’m a 17 year old fed up senior. See lately stress and I have been leading a very intimate and obsessive relationship that I can’t break away from, no matter how hard I try stress keeps pulling me back. Life has been coming down on me hard all at one time. Everyone expects me to be perfect; I have to get perfect grades, get the perfect test scores, to get into the perfect school, have a perfect attitude, join the most prestigious clubs, win the best scholarships to pay for college and deal with my dysfunctional ass parents at home, all with a smile on my face and a song in my heart. To make matters worse I have to deal with seeing my scum of the earth no better than the spit on the floor or the annoying ass gum that gets stuck under shoes ex-boyfriend. Like I said before stress just won’t let me go.

Kalaya

I finally sent off the last of my college applications. I know a month into school is early, but I can’t help myself. Hey I’m Kalaya Charles and since the start of 9th grade all I wanted to do was go to college, double major in English and International Relations and conquer the world. Education has always been very important to my family and that is why I maintain a 4.7 GPA or higher currently a 5.1. As of now I have damn near a perfect life. I have the grades, close family, and psycho friends; But recently my Prince Charming has become the bane of my existence. He is so egregious it’s ridiculous. I don’t know what happen to my real boyfriend, but can the real Xavier please stand up because everything thing he says lately pisses me off, he rarely calls, he treats me like the stuff you flush down a toilet, and to really put the knife in my back instead of breaking up with me he’s cheating. I don’t have any proof of it but he has to be spending his time somewhere. At this point I’m just waiting for the perfect moment in time to present itself to me, so I can be done with Xavier. I rather always be in love with Xavier and let him go instead of keeping him immobilized in a relationship he doesn’t want to be in. In the end I figured I would go to the University Of Florida just to get far away from Xavier and still keep my promise to my parents to study in state for undergraduate school.

I hate love…It always ends.

Keymonie

“Why in the hell isn’t Kayla answering her phone?” I questioned myself. I can’t believe I let her talk me into joining the class committee, and sticking me with picking our homecoming theme. I mean I want to be involved in making my senior year the best it can be, but I’m more like the wing man to Kayla’s bird, so I don’t know what made me volunteer to lead homecoming committee. I know I’m going to have to give a substantial amount of time and effort, but I’m ready. I just wish Brian would understand. I’m Keymonie Johnson and Brian is my boyfriend of about a year; and he’s not making my decision easy telling me how I wouldn’t have time for anything else, I.E. him. That’s where the conundrum comes in, as I looked through all those magazines for homecoming and reflecting on Brian misguided anger toward my new found responsibilities my head started hurt. I needed to compose my nerves. Be tranquil I told myself as Kayla’s voicemail picked up once again. I needed to blog.

I keep a constant blog, where I discuss different things that are on my mind, mainly black guys who leave their good black women for white girls they don’t even love because of societal pressures and standards. There’s nothing I loathe more than a man that can’t think for himself and so allows mainstream culture to think for him. I know it sounds crazy, but I have seen a lot of women give their heart, soul, money and time to a man that was nothing before them, but once that man got a steady income and was back on his feet he left them for a white woman. I’ve witness women in my own family suffer the same fate and I really just don’t want to be like them, so I use my blog to voice my opinion about the controversial subject. Not wrong, just honest.

Akeria

“Shit” I yelled as loud I could. “Are you okay.” I heard my older sister call from the living room. “Yeah I’m okay, just stubbed my toe.” I called back.

I plopped down on my bed and just held back tears. I just can’t believe what‘s happening to me. I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. I’m Akeria Nichols the gossip queen of the group, and I must say with all the gossiping I do the last thing I want to do is be the gossip. Why do I say this? You ask. The reason is because about a month and a half ago my boyfriend Leon and I were having sex and the condom broke. Yeah I know that sucks for me. The worst part is that I didn’t even realize until Leon shot a load inside of me.

I instantly pushed Leon off of me and jumped out of bed when I felt his cum, but it was too late. As I stood I could feel all of his juices running out of me and down my leg. It took me too long to tell my friends because a week later is when I learned about the morning after pill that works only up to three days after your sexual encounter. Yes, I was screwed. Now to make matters worse my period is at least two weeks late and I’m going wary real quickly. This is my senior year and I have my whole life in front on me, so the last thing I want is a baby. I don’t want to be mom this early in my life and I don’t want to be remembered in school as one of those dumb ass girls who got knocked up. What do I look like taking care of a baby anyway, when I’m still one myself?

Kayla

Hey I’m Kayla Williams your Diva extraordinaire. I figure since you guys

are going to see how everything ends you might as well know how it all got started. Yeah, I’m talking about our freshmen year. I got to take you guys back, so you can know me and my boyfriend Darien’s history.

It was the first day of school and to say I was confused and disoriented is putting it mildly. The bell for my first ever high school class had rang and I was still wondering the halls in desperate search of my class. I finally found the stairs and on the second step I lost my balance and fell back. I thought for sure I had caused myself irreparable damage, but I didn‘t hit the floor. I kept my eyes closed for few seconds in anticipation of the impending pain, but none came. When I opened my eyes some guy that I didn’t even notice prior had caught me. “Are you okay?” He said with his smooth baritone voice. “Yeah.” I muttered, still in shock. “Well be careful these stairs are dangerous.”

“I will.” I couldn’t help but stare at the Adonis who saved me. I suddenly realized I was still in this strangers arms. “Thank you.” I said as I quickly got on my feet.

“No need just tell me your name and we’re even.” he flashed a smile that was as contagious as it was heart pounding.

“Kayla.” I cleared my throat attempting to erase the smile out of my voice. “Kayla Williams.”

“Darien.” He simply said while retaining his dimpled smile.

“Darien what?” I wanted a last name.

“It’s the same last name you’ll have when you get married?”

“Excuse me?” I was shocked by his boldness.

“You’re going to have my last name when you get married.” He said again.

“Sorry to burst your bubble, but I’m keeping my last name when I get married.”

“Therefore you would have my last name too.” He flashed another smile. I bit the corner of my bottom lip to hold back from laughing, “All that just for me to learn your last name.”

“I wanted to make it fun.” He said showcasing a new more dangerous and sexier smile to me. He looked my body up and down and the stepped in closer to me. “It was fun right?” Darien’s smooth voice sent surges of delight through my body.

“Okay.” I said smiling away my embarrassment? “Thank you, but I have to go to class.”

I grabbed on to the rail for support as I uncomfortably walked up the stairs. This morning when I woke up I thought wearing a mini-skirt to school was a good idea, but as I used my folder to keep my skirt from flying up and flashing my smiling savior I realized that it might not have been such a good idea. Once I got up stairs and looked at the empty halls I realized that I still didn’t know my way around this place. I flipped open my folder and stared at my schedule in bewilderment. “You need help don’t you?” I could feel Darien’s breath on my neck.

“You know your way around this school?” I asked.

“Yeah, I can help you find your class.”

“So I’m guessing you’re not a freshmen?” I prodded trying to get more information about him.

“I’m a freshmen, just a special one.”

“How is that?” His answer flustered me.

“Well I was sent here to save you and help you find your class. Let me see your schedule.” Darien put his hand out for my schedule. I handed it to him and he quickly looked it over. “Aright let’s go.” Darien grabbed my folder out my hand and placed his hand there instead. Darien seemed so calm and composed as we walked hand in hand to my class. “Here we go, room 2287.” Darien concluded, but didn’t let my hand go. “We have the same class.” He smiled as he opened the door and we walked into class hand in hand like a couple and looked at the seating chart that had Darien conveniently sitting behind me. He smiled his devilish smile again and said “I guess we should go to our seats.”

The first class and as I would later discover the first two days were a breeze. The teacher passed out student contracts to be signed by us and our parents; And we filled out papers about ourselves and presented ourselves to the class. Once that was done we had free time to talk amongst each other. “Kayla!” I instantly recognized the voice calling me. I looked up and before I could answer Keymonie grabbed me and pulled me into a corner where Shani awaited. “You slore!” Keymonie exclaimed. And for those who have never heard of the term slore, it is the words slut and whore combined. “Why am I slore?” I tried to keep my voice down even though Keymonie obviously wasn’t. “Where did you find him?” Shani grilled me, while pointing over at Darien.

“Can you stop?” I grabbed Shani’s hand. Shani snatched her hand back and said “Tell me before I ask him.” Keymonie put her finger to her ear and leaned in closer. “I’m listening slut face.”

“It nothing special,” I shrugged my shoulders before continuing, “He helped me find my class.” Keymonie and Shani just stared at me emotionless for a few seconds. “She’s lying.” Keymonie finally said. “Let’s go.” Shani headed toward Darien. I followed behind them, but there was no way to stop him. “My, aren’t you just the cutest thing?” Keymonie said as she walked up to Darien. He looked up and smiled, “Thank you.” Shani stepped up from behind Keymonie, “Do you mind telling me how you and Kayla met?”

“She professed her love for me outside and we kind of just went from there.” Darien maintained a stolid face. Keymonie and Shani both laughed, “Please how did you guys really meet?” Keymonie pleaded.

“We met on the steps when she fell into my arms and then I showed her to her class, which happen to be my class too.” Darien’s truth seem false as well.

Shani and Key looked at him crazy. “It’s the truth.” I added. “I fell back while going up the stairs and Darien caught me.”

“Awe.” my friends said in unison. “Do you have a girlfriend?” Shani asked.

“No, I don’t have a girlfriend.” Darien shook his head before adding, “That is only if Kay is not offering to be my girlfriend.”

“Kay?” Both of my friends twisted their faces at me.

“Oh, can I call you Kay?” Darien broke in and flashed me another smile.

“Yeah it’s cool.” I returned his smile. “Where do you guys sit?” I diverted the conversation. “I sit two rows right of you.” Shani pointed at her seat.

“Well I sit all the way on the other end next to the white boy in the blue shirt.” Key said with her arms folded. “Wow he’s cute.” Shani said.

“That’s David, I had in science class last year. He is good people.” I added.

“Umm whatever, All I know is that when I sat down he was looking at me like I had 10 heads and escaped from the circus. Like I was beneath him and didn’t deserve to be in this class. After that he had the nerve to try and be friendly with as if he didn’t just look at me like a freak of nature a few seconds earlier. As far as I‘m concerned he‘s a prejudice asshole. ” Keymonie paranoia was clearly getting to her.

“Wow do you realize how paranoid you sound? Your judging him off of a few second stare that you didn’t even say looked angry in any way.” I tried to reason with Key.

“You didn’t see the stare. He really looked, so shocked to see my black ass sitting next to him.” Keymonie argued.

“He was probably really shocked to see your black ass because your ass is bigger than the moon.” I said, while Shani and Darien laughed.

“Don’t play Kay.” Key said.

“He was probably staring at you because he wanted to introduce himself, like you stated he did.” I said.

“Yeah.” Shani chipped in, “Let that boy earn your hate before you give it to him.”

“He probably was staring at because you’re cute with a nice body. Maybe just Maybe he seen something he liked.” Darien added.

Keymonie folded her arms, “Highly doubtful, all that white boy want me to do is pick cot-”

“Stop Key.” I cut her off. “Not all white people are racist and stuck in the 18 hundreds, and David is definitely not one of those people. He hangs with black people just as much as white people.”

“Whatever.” Key brushed me off.

“Get back in your seats everybody I have one more announcement before the bell rings.” Mrs. Hudson said.

The bell rang and Darien walked me to my next class. “I guess I’ll see you after 3rd period. We have 5th period together, so I pick you up here and we can walk there together.”

“Thank you.” I could feel myself blush without the red cheeks.

“Can you feel it?” Darien asked.

“Feel what?”

“How much you want me?” He stated with confidence in his voice.

I rolled my eyes and hid my embarrassment. “I have to go class, so you can come and pick me up after if you want.”

“Of course I’m coming. I obviously want you too.” He said and then walked away before I could respond.

Third period was my woodshop/pottery class. You know one of those electives that switch out and become another class half way through the year. Well I was starting off in woodshop and my work station was by David’s so I had to spend all class trying to explain Keymonie’s behavior. “I don’t understand her, what the fuck her problem is.” David concluded as we filled out contact forms.

“She just has to warm up to you.” I made an attempt to take up for key.

“Well she didn’t have to warm up to anybody else in the class. She seems warmed up to everybody in the class, but me.”

“Now look how wrong you are, she is probably already warmed up to the black kids in the class.”

“So it’s because I’m white?” David wanted a clear answer.

“Yeah that’s why she hasn’t warmed up to you yet… Now the reason she hates you is because she thinks you’re a racist.”

“Wait what?” David leaned in so he could hear me better. “She thinks I’m a what?”

“Well she didn’t use that word, but she said a whole lot more that gave off that impression.”

“Okay it’s obvious that your friend is just a bitch.”

“Hey.” I said. “Don’t call her that. She is actually one of the sweetest people I know. Oh she did flat out use the term racist.”

“So who are you friends with, the devil?”

“Listen even though she would’ve normally took a while to warm up to you anyway, it’s your fault she hates you.”

“How is that?” David asked even though he seemed like he didn’t care to know.

“It’s because of the way you looked at her when she first went to take her seat.”

“What way did I look at her?” David was confused.

“I don’t know like she was beneath you, had 10 heads like circus freak or like she didn’t belong in the class. She said things to that effect.”

“That’s what she thinks.”

“Yeah,” I decided to tell what I felt was the truth. “You know it’s just tough luck and the truth is she is probably never going to like you, so get use to her being a bitch to you and no one else.”

“Wow I guess that has to be okay. It‘s only 9th grade, right?”

“You showed up.” I greeted Darien.

“You knew I would, so don’t act surprised.” Darien extended his hand to me and I grabbed on tight as we made our way through the Halls. Fifth period was science and we all sat at tables of two. Kalaya sat next to me, while Darien and one of his friends sat behind us. “Excuse me ladies.” Darien’s friend called.

Kalaya grabbed my leg to try and contain her excitement. We both turned around and I tried not to look Darien in the eye, but I could feel his stare melting the clothes off of my body, so I looked at him and he continued to stare as if my back was still towards him. “Are you talking to us?” Kalaya asked calmly.

“You two are the most beautiful women in this room, so we have to be talking to you. See my name is Xavier and this is my boy Darien and we wondering if you two ladies would do us the honor of giving your names?”

“I’m Kalaya and this is my friend Kayla.”

“I know her.” Darien commented without letting up on his stare and continuing to blink less than the average human being.

“So you’re Darien.” Kalaya whispered. “Oh all of our close friends call me Laya and her Kay.” Kalaya spoke aloud. Kalaya and Xavier started to have their own conversation while Darien kept staring at me.

“What is it?” I questioned Darien. He just resumed gazing at me as if it was a normal thing. “What do you mean what is it?”

“What are you staring a-”

“You,” Darien cut me off. “Does it bother you?”

“No, but-”

“Do you have a boyfriend?” He calmly cut me off again.

“No, but I don’t need a boyfriend this early into high school.”

“You don’t have to need it to want it.”

“I don’t want a boyfriend.” I reiterated.

“Let’s just see how long you say that.”

I know, crazy right, but that was my first day of school. My second day was no less eventful with me running into Darien for the 3rd time in my fourth period health/life skills class. The best part about my 2, 4, 6 day was being able to talk about it in math class at the end of the day. Akeria, our homeboy Suntrell and I sat in the back of the class talking about anything we could think of. “I mean he is visually perfect and so far he has great personality too, but he has these long stretches where he just stares at me.” I said.

“How does he stare at you?” Akeria asked.

“Their different sometimes it’s a gaze, sometimes it’s intense, and sometimes I feel like he is looking at me as if he seen a ghost and those are the ones that bother me.”

“I can answer this.” Suntrell cut in. “He is thinking about fucking you. Right now stay with me, he doesn’t exactly know every curve of your body yet, so he’s looking at you to make sure he gets everything right.”

“Okay, no.” Akeria said.

“Oh excuse me, do you have a dick too.” Suntrell shot at Akeria.

“No.” Akeria said. “But every guy is not a sex addict like you.”

“I like to add faithful sex addict, there are no complaints in my black book.”

“Okay.” I put my hand up to halt the emerging argument. “Let’s just say Suntrell is partially right. How do you explain the ghost looks?”

“Oh that easy,” Suntrell folded his arms and looked at me as if I asked him a fools question, “Your boy crazy.”

Akeria could not help, but laugh. “I told you not to listen to him.”

“What ya’ll don’t believe me? This guy is a straight stalker in the making.” Suntrell tried to plead his case.

“We are officially not listening to you.” Akeria still giggled.

“Hear me out though.”

“Okay. We’re listening.” I said.

“I dated this girl, she was cute, her body was tight and all that good stuff, but the girl was too into me. She wanted to move fast like have a kid and a family, while I just wanted to finish 7th grade. Finally I build up the nerve to tell the girl I can’t see you no more and then she turns fatal attraction on me. Stalking me, calling my cell and house phone with the number blocked. The girl was crazy and I think your guy is too.”

“Why are you trying to scare her like that?” Akeria scolded Suntrell.

“What if her man tries to murder her, then what?” Suntrell shot back.

“He’s not my man.” I chipped in.

“Well keep scaring her and I won’t introduce you to Shani.”

“Ooo don’t do me like that.” Suntrell pleaded. “Kayla you still got me.”

“Yes.” I agreed without really listening to what he was saying.

I will admit Suntrell did kind of get to me, but I had already liked Darien way too much to let that completely cloud my judgment. The ghost stares did eventually stop, but I soon found that Darien just had a way of talking with his eyes. I also had to admit that after a month I couldn’t even pretend anymore, I wanted a boyfriend and I wanted it to be Darien, but it was hard to come out and say it to him after I so boldly told him I didn’t need or want a boyfriend. With that said Darien was still laying it on pretty thick and I didn’t want to fall for someone and be head over heels like some other girls I know, Kalaya. She wasn’t just Xavier’s girlfriend now, but also Darien’s pitchman. Every time it’s just the girls or she has a moment alone with me she starts to nag. You should fall in love with Darien so you guys can be like me and my baby X. It would be so cool if the two sets of best friends coupled up. Darien and you look so good together. I know you like him. She may have changed a few words, but that is almost exactly how she sounded each and every time. Between Darien, Xavier, my friends and a little bit of myself I was really starting to develop strong feelings for this guy and that scared me.

I was late for my 4th period health class and ended up stepping in class with just enough time to put down my stuff before lunch.

“So what happen today?” Darien asked as we both lagged behind in the auditorium. “I was late to school and I had a presentation in my world history class, so the only way I could present was if I waited my turn and presented to her 4th period class.” I said as I retrieved my wallet from my purse.

“What did the teacher say about you coming to this class late?”

“He was okay with it, but told me I would need to get my notes from a classmate.”

Darien handed me two sheets of paper. “I hope you can read my handwriting because I made you a copy.”

“Really?” I asked dumfounded as I grabbed the papers.

“Yeah,” He smiled. “It’s my job to make the load easier for you.”

“Thank you.” I gave Darien a warm hug.

“You are very welcome.” He said before leaning in to kiss me, but right before our lips touched I flinched and turned my head away. “Why couldn’t you just have let the kiss happen?” I could hear the regret in Darien’s Voice.

“It’s just that I am not re-” That moment happen so fast. Darien had grabbed me and caught me off guard taking my bottom lip into his mouth. He sucked, and tongued, and softly bit on my lip till I could barely stand. “Why did you do that?” I was still in shock.

“Because you don’t have to be ready for everything that happens in your life,” He said with a sly grin of satisfaction and then walked away. I was in a daze to say the least. At lunch everyone kept repeating things to and asking me was I listening. Hell no. I answered in my head, but shook my head yes.

When we returned from lunch I picked up my stuff and moved to the

upper deck of the auditorium. I figured the teacher would think I was copying the notes from someone and not bother me. I just couldn’t be around Darien after that kiss, especially since I always had a horrible poker face. He would probably ask me a simple question and I would tremble. As the class returned from lunch Darien walked and without a word or second thought picked up his stuff and came and sat right next to me. “You’re watching the movie from back here?” Darien sat his stuff down on the floor next to him. “I didn’t know we were watching a movie.” I said without looking up. “I know you didn’t, you just thought that you would get away from me. No such luck. The class scrambled around to get a closer seat to the projector.

In the end Darien and I were obviously separated from the rest of class in the pitch black auditorium. Darien leaned over and whispered in my ear. “Isn’t it funny how you tried to get away from me and now were basically all alone with our movements covered by the darkness?” Darien’s hand rubbed up and down my thigh. “I wasn’t trying to get away from you.” I said as I pushed his hand away. “You don’t have to lie; I wasn’t going to let you get away either way.”

“Dare when are you going to get another mouse to chase around the school.”

“It’s been two months and you still don’t get it; I’m not going to leave you alone, so we can play this cat mouse game as long as you want, but I much rather explore that wild side I know you have.” Darien put his hand back on my thigh.

“We need to watch the movie.” I pushed his hand away again.

“You didn’t push me away.”

“What?”

“You didn’t push me away when I kissed you and besides this movie and questions the teacher is going to ask, are online.”

“Because I didn’t push you away means I wanted it?”

“Yeah,” Darien softly bit my earlobe. “Calm down.” His warm tongue explored my neck. “Your lips are safe and that’s about all.”

I don’t know what paralyzed me, but I didn’t move. I didn’t speak I just let Darien take control of me. The next day class English was the most uncomfortable experience in my life. I didn’t talk to Darien and he didn’t push me for the first time. I resolved that he finally got what he wanted and that I was no longer of interest to him anymore. “It’s a poetry free write.” Mrs. Hudson announced to class. “You will Have 30 minutes to compose a poem about anything you want, to present to the class.”

“Are you serious? I can’t write a poem.” I heard David complain.

Keymonie raised her hand and waited to be called on. “Yes Keymonie.” the teacher answered.

“This is just an effort assignment because I’m not really the poetic type of girl.”

“Okay how about you and David work together since you two seem to have a problem with poetry.” Mrs. Hudson said.

David and Keymonie looked at each other, “Fuck.”

“Excuse me.” Mrs. Hudson said.

“Nothing,” They responded.

“What are you going to write about Shani?” I asked.

“I don’t know girl, I want to write about how much I miss my summer vacation. How about you? Are you going to write something loving or erotic, either is your specialty.” Shani said. I balled up a paper and threw at her. “No I’m not going to write anything like that to present to the class and the teacher.” I gave Shani a mean look. She shrugged he shoulders and mouthed. “Who does he think you are, mother Teresa?”

“No, but you didn’t have to blow me up like that.” I said.

“Sorry.” Shani whispered.

“You’re not even going to move your desk closer to mine?” David said to Keymonie. Key rolled her eyes, “I’m not your servant. Why do I have to move my desk near you? Why can’t you move your desk closer to me? You are the man, right?”

“I didn’t move my desk near you because I didn’t feel like hearing you snap on me.” David said.

“I see.” Keymonie said. “Everything that has to do with me has to be negative.”

“God this woman,” David said out loud to his self.

“You shouldn’t call on God with your evil thoughts.” Keymonie said.

David got up pushed his desk towards Keymonie, sat down and then pulled her the rest of the way to him. “Don’t man handle me,” Keymonie said. David chuckled and responded, “If I was different man I would have been man handled you in more ways than one.”

“I like to see you try.” Keymonie said.

“Girl you are like 4 feet, calm down.” David said.

“I can take you.” Key sucked her teeth.

“Yeah you can take me to bed but that’s about it.” David chuckled again.

“Are you implying the only thing I’m good for is sex?” Keymonie folded her arms.

David tilted his head, “God this Woman.” He said again. “Can you at least take out the paper since I don’t have any.” David told Keymonie.

“Yeah I’ll take out the paper, but you should really buy some paper

of your own.” Key pulled out a few sheets of paper.

“Twenty bucks on them murdering each other,” Shani said.

“Who wants to go first?” Mrs. Hudson asked the class that suddenly fell dead silent. “I’ll go.” Darien volunteered as he walked to the front of the class room. “I wonder what your man has planned.” Shani said.

“He is not my man just some player that has played with me.” I didn’t look Shani in the face. “Well it’s still early.” Shani replied.

“The title of my poem is Angel in the Front Seat.” Darien announced to the class as eyes seem to lock on me. I boldly returned his stare as he proceeded to recite his poem.

“This angel fell into my arms and life.

5”1 brown skin and a body so nice.

Her face such a beautiful sight,

and her personality is just so right;

That she got me thinking about how we

would make love all night.

I’ve already strapped on my gear for a fight.

To make sure this girl becomes my wife.

Give me 3 kids would be nice,

And kiss all those special place at night.

See I often fantasize about her.

And me making her scream the name

of the heavenly father,

Saying D go harder.

Then I wake, to discover it was all fake;

But then she takes her seat,

and my heart skips a beat

Could this really be?

That the angel sits in front of me.”

By the time Darien finished his poem my head was down in embarrassment and my face felt like it was on fire. As the class applauded I heard Mrs. Hudson say “That’s a hard act to follow.” Before Darien took his seat he sat the poem down on my desk. “You can have it.” I stayed quiet with my head down.

“Don’t tell me you embarrassed?” Darien responded to my quietness. “I’m the one who just poured my heart out in front of the whole class.”

“Well you’re obviously not a shy person.” I finally lifted my head.

“Aww you’re a shy person baby, or are you just embarrassed?”

“What did you say?” Akeria asked with enthusiasm in her eyes.

“I couldn’t say anything. I was shocked.” I explained to Akeria and Suntrell.

“Okay I have to see this poem.” Suntrell said.

“You know I brought it.” I handed the paper to Suntrell. “Don’t mess it up.”

“I won’t lovebird.” Suntrell laughed at his own comment. Akeria ran behind Suntrell to read the poem too. “Aww it’s so sweet.” Akeria said

“Yeah I guess you were right Akeria he probably has changed.” Suntrell added.

“I could just punch you!” Akeria yelled at Suntrell.

“What?” Suntrell shrugged his shoulders. “She already knows.”

“Know what?” I asked.

“Darien.” He said as if his name explained it all.

“Okay, I don’t know what you two are talking about so just tell me.” I was starting to get frustrated. Suntrell and Akeria looked at each other in silence. “You might as well tell her then.” Akeria finally said. I turned to Suntrell with what must have looked like desperation in my eyes as I waited for him to speak. “I’m going to say this off bat, it’s not good news. Well I was talking to my cousin who was a senior out here last year.” Suntrell stopped for a second as if was second guessing telling me the rest, but then continued. “He started telling me about how this 9th grader from last year and asked me how he was doing and was he still going to school out here. I asked what his name is just in case I knew him or so I could look out for him. He tells me Darien Williams.”

“Okay continue.” I pressed on.

“Well when he said the name I told him I didn’t know him because the only Darien Williams I heard of is in 9th now. That’s when he tells me that it’s probably him because Darien failed last year.”

“That’s not that bad.” I exhaled.

“He failed because he was in drug rehab for cocaine and heroin addiction.”

“That can’t be my Darien.” I assured Suntrell who just looked at Akeria waiting for her to say something. “Suntrell’s cousin showed us a picture of him in his senior yearbook and it’s the same Darien.” Akeria avoided eye contact with me.

“Okay so we all got our past, but he’s clean now.” I looked back and forth between Akeria and Suntrell who both had sullen looks on their faces.

“Suntrell finish telling her.” Akeria got up out her seat and pretended to have to sharpen her pencil.

“Well the only reason Darien got hooked to drugs was because everyone was blaming him for this girl name Fatima’s death last year.”

“Why would it be his fault?”

“Darien was the biggest player in the whole entire school. He toyed with and slept with girls from 9th grade through college. He would sweet talk his victims just to fuck ‘em and leave them ass out as just another one his numbers. He lived by the 4 F’s until-”

“What are the 4 F’s?” I cut in.

“Well when it comes to girls the 4 F’s are find them, fool them, fuck them, then forget them. It always worked out for Darien until he dated this 12th grader named Fatima. I heard from my cousin this chick was obsessed with him and when he broke up with her she went crazy. She became depressed and withdrawn till one day she took her life and left in her suicide note “If Darien doesn’t want me then I don’t want to be here.” The whole school found out about the note and blame fell on Darien, he wasn’t even allowed to attend the girl’s funeral and I guess that got to him. In the end he ended up addicted to drugs and had to be admitted into rehab for 5 months. By the time he was out the school year was over it was only a months before this school year started.”

“Are you serious? Like are you guys sure that this guy is my Darien.” I said in disbelief.

“It’s him, Akeria confirmed it.”

“It could have just looked like him.”

“Same name and face Kay, it’s him.”

Everything seem to hit me like a head on collision with a train. Suntrell tried to assure me that Darien had probably changed for the better and would tell me everything in time, but I just couldn’t take being his next number. It seemed like once I found out all that information from Suntrell that my eyes and ears were opened up. People had been talking about Darien for a while now, but I was too far away in fantasy land to notice. Not just that but a lot of things that I had noticed about Darien finally fell into place. Things like how he was the only freshmen to know the school like the back of his hand on the very first day or how he seem to know all the teachers agendas and where to look up the answers to test and quizzes. He was always able to skip weight training to come to my woodshop class because he was what seem to be automatically cool with both of the teachers. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t even caught on that he had failed at least. The only thing I now knew for sure is that I couldn’t talk to or get close to the guy who lives by the 4 F’s. I completely ignored him as if we had never met.

“It’s been more than a week now you’re getting ridiculous.” Akeria said to me as she stared at the new boy in or class. “You can’t even keep your eyes off of Leon for two seconds and I’m ridiculous.”

“Don’t pay any attention to her.” Suntrell cut in. “I think you should at least talk to the guy, so you can hear his side. I told you before that I don’t know for sure but I think he is really serious about you.”

“No he is on the second F, which is to fool me into thinking he is serious about me.” I corrected Suntrell.
“I think he is really attached to you, because since you stop talking to him the guys has seriously been looking depressed. Shit, he might even star sniffing again behind your ass.”

“Can you not say that?”

“I’m just saying, what happen to Darien a few months ago is not something you tell somebody you really care about off bat. I think if you really like him you should give him a chance. Just keep your guard up while doing it.” Suntrell concluded.

“I think you should talk to him because you hurting yourself too.” Akeria didn’t break her glance. “I think you haven’t been as happy since you stop talking to Darien and all you’re going to do is end up seeing him around and thinking what if -and nobody wants to think that.”

“You guys are right. I said as I opened my math book to the assignment and sat it on Akeria’s desk. “What’s this?” She said as I sat the book down.

“You owing me,” I said before calling out to Leon. “Leon, do get how to do the assignment?”

“Yeah,” He said with a surprised look.

“Can you help me and my friend because we’re having problems?” I said in a near baby voice.

“Of course,” He answered before making his way over to help us.

In retrospect of the past week I will admit that I did really want to talk to Darien and it was hurting me not to do so, but I just didn’t know how to take everything in. I mean damn, I just got into high school; I didn’t expect to deal with players and drug addicts until my sophomore year. After school I had made up my mind to talk to Darien and at least be friends. While in the area after school I ran into X. “Hey.” X greeted me with a hug and kiss on the cheek.

“Hey…Have you seen Darien?” I cut to the chase.

“No, you are looking for him?”

“Yeah, I haven’t talk to him in a while and was wondering where he was.”

“You want me to call him because I could get him to come if you want.” X said with phone already out.

“No, it’s fine just tell him that I was looking for him.” I declined and started to walk off when X said, “You have to know how much he likes you.”

“I don’t know really. I don’t know how much he likes me or even why he likes me like he does, but I do know one thing and that is I’m not going to be the replacement for Fatima.”

“Replacement,” X repeated. “Why would you think that when you have done to Darien what Fatima could only accomplish in death and that’s make him care about you.”

“Well I use to think Darien looked as if he seen a ghost and even though I haven‘t seen how this girl looked I‘m convinced I remind him of her.”

I started toward the back of the school to go home when I caught a glimpse of Darien. My heart began to beat out of my chest as I started towards him, and then all of sudden I just stopped in place. Darien was talking to the whore of all whores and my arch rival Tayneisha. She is my good friend Rodrick’s sister, and she has hated me since Rodrick told me that I was the sister he wish he had and I dated this guy she liked. Since then we have been nemesis and now the cock sucking bitch is talking to Darien. I just couldn’t take it, so I turned around and quickly tried to back track, but Darien saw me. “I thought you were looking for me.” Darien grabbed me by the arm to stop me from walking away.

“How do you know that?”

“X just texted it to me,”

“Oh yeah I was, but it’s fine now.” I turned to walk away.

“Is that how you’re going to act every time you see me talking

to a girl?” Darien said.

“Don’t worry because I have no reason to act a certain way because you talk to that low budget hoe.” I folded my arms over my chest. “And what makes you think I care about who you talk to anyway?”

“I don’t know if you care, I just hope you do.”

“Darien I have to go home.” I tried to walk away for a second time but Darien stopped me again. “I’ll drop you home.”

“You drive too… Well I don‘t need a ride.” I said trying to pull away from Darien who had my hand and wouldn’t let go. “I want to talk to you, so let’s go somewhere private and I can drop you off after.”

“Darien.” I tried to refuse .

“Please, just talk to me.”

“You sure your whore would approve?” I said.

“It doesn’t matter to you either way.”

“Are you going to take me home?” I folded me arms. Darien then unfolded them and wrapped them around him. “Come on.”

We pulled up into the parking lot of an abandoned shopping plaza. “So what do you want to know?” Darien said as he cut off the car. “Darien I don’t know what do you want to tell me?”

“In that case I agree with whatever you have been told.”

“Wait, you agree with what I’ve heard? You don’t even know what I have heard.”

“Yeah, so.”

“So you failed last year?” I asked.

“I thought you knew that.”

“No not at all… You use to be addicted to drugs?”

“Yeah,”

“You’re a player?”

“Was, not now.”

“Why? What would make me believe that?”

“I had already decided that I had enough fun when I left Fatima. I wanted a serious relationship and that’s why I couldn’t be with anybody I wasn’t serious about. It wasn’t anything against her, but I didn’t like her the way she liked me, so I thought it would be better if I let her go rather than string her along. I was wrong, but how everything went down with her suicide was not my intention. I thought I was becoming a better person, but I became a murderer.”

“Are you completely over what happen with Fatima?”

“Yeah I would have to be, to come back to this school.” Darien threw his head back. “By the way who told you I was a cheater?”

“No one said you were a cheater, just a player. I assumed the other.”

“Well you assumed wrong on that one because I have never had a “girlfriend”, while sleeping with another chick.” He stressed the word girlfriend. “When I was sleeping with different girls at the same time I was just sleeping around.”

I rubbed the side of my head, “So you have slept with a lot of girls?”

“I’m experienced.” He said.

“I can tell.” I folded my arms and tried to put a number to the word experienced. “How old are?” I asked.

“16 next week…Okay listen all I’m asking you to do is give us a shot and if you don’t like it break up with me.”

“I don’t want to be a replacement for Fatima that you just have around to make you feel good about yourself.”
“It’s not like that.” Darien pleaded.

“Then why do you always look at me like I have 3 heads?”

“I don’t.”

“Okay you can take me home.”

“Well shit if I tell you won’t believe me.” Darien said.

“Well try me.” I folded my arms and waited for Darien’s story.

“Well while I was in rehab I use to have these dreams about this Angel. She would come to me in my dreams and basically give me strength to fight my addiction. She would comfort me, talk to me and sometimes fuck me.”

“Darien what does you fucking an Angel have to do with us?” I cut in.

“You were the Angel.” Darien said. I stared at him with a blank expression before finally saying, “You’re right I don’t believe you.”
“Believe it or not you helped me through 5 months of hell and I love you for that.” Darien leaned in to kiss me but I turned away. “Take me home please.”

“Why?” He looked confused.

“Because the only reason you like me is because I look like some Angel out your dream.”

“No it was you, one in the same and how we met.”

“Oh my gosh, my friend said you were crazy.”

“Okay I’m crazy, have you ever been with a crazy man.” Darien said with a straight face.

“What?” I couldn’t control my laughter.

“But seriously one date.”

“Okay one date.” I smiled.

“I thought you weren’t serious about this date?” Kalaya asked as she watched me put on make-up in the mirror. “I’m not serious about it, but that doesn’t mean I have to leave the house looking a mess.” I said while applying lip gloss.

“That dress looks like you want something to happen.” Laya added.

“Really because it reminds me of the dress you wore on your first date with Xavier.”

“Yeah and I definitely wanted something to happen and don’t forget it did. That is why I am trying to figure out why someone who isn’t taking their date seriously is wearing a dress like that?.”

“Listen it’s not a crime to want to look good.” I said.

“It’s also not a crime to admit that you really like Darien and that technically this is your third date not first.”

“Just because we went out a couple of places together doesn’t make it dates.”

“Whatever.” Kalaya threw her hands up at me. “Don’t hurt him okay.”

“Okay you need to stop.”

The doorbell rang and I knew it was Darien. “How do I look?” I asked Kalaya.

“Like he is going to get real lucky tonight,”

“You know something, bitch get out my house.”

Laya fell on my bed laughing, “I don’t remember Angels cursing.”

The Angel in Darien’s dreams thing was still ought right crazy to me, but I had agreed to give Darien a chance; And he didn’t disappoint. We started the night with dinner at the cheesecake and then dancing at a local all ages club. We eventually ended up laying in the back of Darien’s truck on the beach, with the trunk door open watching the stars and talking. We fell silent for a few moments as I laid on Darien’s chest and he stroked my back. “What are you thinking about?” I sat my chin on his chest and he looked down at me and smiled “Just thinking about what would’ve happened if you said no.”

“Don’t think about that.” I turned away. “Unless that’s the version of life you want to be living right now.”

“No I just wanted ponder what if?” He began to stroke my back again. “You know you’re just so cute and innocent looking.”

“Is that a bad thing?”

“No, everybody wants to fall in love with a cute person so that’s perfect.”

“We as humans are shallow that way. We want someone to love, respect and cherish us, but we would ignore that very person for someone that is physically more attractive, or financially more stable with a disdainful attitude.”

“Very true,” Then Darien looked down and waited for me to make eye contact. “So what is your ideal relationship? Do you like to be protected and taken care of or do you like the artist type?”

“Are you talking the here and now or-”

“Long term like marriage,” Darien finished my sentence and answered my question at the same time.

“Don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t mind being taken care of, but I don’t need it because no matter what I want to have a career of my own and be able to live and provide for myself. In conclusion, I just want a man to be a man.”

“What does that mean?” Darien seem to chuckle.

“I can’t tell you now, another time.” I cuddled closer to him.

“Hey.” Darien tackled me down on the beach towel. “You promised you would tell me next time.”

“Well I met one of the next times

“This is the spot.” Darien signaled for me to the spread out the comforter over the sand. Darien sat our basket on the corner of the comforter before laying down.

“You’re not going to lay down?” Darien stared at me sitting on my legs.

“No, I’m okay.”

“Baby why are so tense?”

“I’m not tense.” I tried to look relaxed. “I’m just surprised.”

“By what Exactly,”

“You, us at your secret spot.”

“Why? I told you I would bring you here eventually, so why are you surprised?” Darien stared me square in the eyes. “You know you don’t have to be afraid of me. I won’t bite, not yet anyways.”

“Boy, I am not scared of you.”

“Okay.” He said in an unconvinced mocking voice.

“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” I folded my arms.

“I said okay.”

“No you’re being sarcastic.” I laid down on my stomach next to Darien. “Hope you realize I’m not doing this because you.”

“That’s okay.” He grinned.

“Darien.”

“Yes.” He looked me in the eye, I leaned in and took in his bottom lip a, and dipped my tongue in and out his mouth before slowly pulling away.

“Umm I think I’m scared of you now.” Darien grinned and his dimples made me smile too.

“I highly doubt that.”

“Yeah, you right I could still handle you up and down this beach.”

“Really?”

“With both hands tied.” Darien turned over on and laid on his back and I sat up on my legs. “You not scared are you.”

“Darien how many times do I have to tell you I am not scare-”

“Be my girlfriend.”

I inhaled deeply and thought to myself yes, but said “I don’t know if I’m ready.”
“What is the worst that could happen? You date me and come to the conclusion that I’m an asshole and then you leave me. At least you tried...”

“Okay.” I said softly.

“And I’m not going to turn out to be an asshole, at least not for the reason you think.”

“Okay.” I repeated a little louder.

“I’m not saying I’m an asshole in anyway, I just saying whether good or bad we should give it a try because it seems like a good thing. I mean I know I like you and I think you like me and-”

“I do like you.” I finally cut in. “And I could be your girlfriend. I want to be your girlfriend.”

“Yeah,” Darien said with a new found confidence in his voice and smile wider than Mr. Kool-Aid. “I thought so.” He said kissing me. “But for real, I was starting to get scared there.”

“Well I have to keep you guessing.”

“Wow English was so interesting today because I wanted to work with my friend Keymonie, but she was already working with David.” Shani stated

“You mean that guy she once referred to as a prejudice ass whole is the guy she spent all day talking to.” I added.

“Could it be?” We said in unison.

“Can you guys get off my back? I sit on the other side of the room, so my only opportunity to communicate with you two is before and after class, and group work. I need someone to talk to and David sits right next to me.”

“Awww-”

“No aww. We are just classroom acquaintances, seriously.” Keymonie cut us off.

“Alright,” I threw up my hand in defeat and the three of us started down

the hall. “Shani are you ever going to meet Suntrell? Trust me when I tell you that you will owe Akeria and I pretty pennies for the rest of your life. Just meet him.”

“I told you, I’m talking to someone.” Shani said with pride.

“Yeah you brought another guy from your favorite Shit Mart.” Keymonie pierced Shani’s happiness with precision. “You attract all the losers and future on the corner talking about the woulda, shoulda coulda brothers. Let us set you up, it wouldn’t hurt.”

“Let the girl who is dating the class clown and the girl that is with the born again man whore run my dating life. I can do bad all by myself.”

“Yes, I need you to point that out because everyone else in the school does it so much I might forget to listen.”

Shani tried to cover her tracks. “Kay I didn’t mean to.”

I looked at her and just smiled. “It’s okay, wouldn’t want you to lie. I have to go meet my male whore, so see you guys later.” And just like that I sped off into the crowd. I don’t want to say Shani eventually choked on her words, but she did.

I mean it just has to be mentioned that Suntrell became the hottest thing in school, and that great guy Shani was talking to, broke up with her after 2 months.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that Darien and I was still going strong. We didn’t even have sex until 11th grade if you can believe that.

Darien wrapped his arms around me and held me tight. “Baby, I think I got senioritis.”

“Dare we’re Juniors still.” I chuckled.

“Technically I’m supposed to be a senior, so it’s already started to set in. Besides I pretty sure I’ve had senioritis since the 4th grade.” We both laughed and started down the hall. I took Darien’s hand and tangled our fingers together. “Can you believe it in a few months we will be seniors?” I looked up at Darien, who was giving my question serious thought. “I can believe it.” He finally said. “But the time feels like it went so fast.”

“We spend all of high school life wishing we could graduate tomorrow only to wake and wish we could do it all over again.” I added with a sigh.

“Kay!” I turned around to see Keymonie calling me. “Hey!” she said with excitement in her voice. “Please tell me you seen my future husband?”

“No. I don’t have class with David today.” I said with a smirk.

“Why are you always trying to put that boy off on me, Ugh. Anyway I was talking about the new kid in my math class Brian.”

“Yeah, I think I know who you’re talking about and I hope you are not saying you like him.”

“Didn’t he just get out jail and doesn’t he still sell drugs?” Darien asked. “Is that your type?”

“No he’s not her type.” I answered for Key.

“Everybody deserves a second chance, don’t they Darien.” She looked to Darien for a forced support system. “Who knows if he will even like me, but wish me luck.” She said before scurrying off. When she disappeared Darien and I just looked at each other and shook our heads.

Keymonie

It seems like yet again David and I are stuck working together on a project. The truth is that David is my best guy friend, but I do get tired of his ass just like I do any other guy. “When are we going to get together to work on the project?,” David asked as we walked along side each other. “I don’t know, it’s not a hard project so I don’t think we have to meet up at all; you can email me your part and I’ll email you mine and we call it a day. It’s symbolism in “The Great Gatsby” for goodness sakes, there is so much of that to go around we could have scored an A if we would’ve went on the spot.”

“True enough.” David shook his head in agreement, “but we could also meet up, work together and cut down the time it takes us to do the project in half.”

I put my hands up in surrender, “whatever you want to do it.”

“I know.”

“Don’t be a smart ass.”

“Don’t act like you didn’t want to be in a group with me.”

“I didn’t say I wanted to be in a group with you David.”

“You also didn’t say you didn’t want to be in a group with me.”

“Whatever.” I concluded as we walked into chemistry class.

I was slowly and steadily starting to realize that my body, not me was in desperate need for male companionship. Every guy I had been with in high school truly wasn’t worth me giving any of my body to them, thus making it a while since I last had sex. However I have been flicking the bean in the meantime to fulfill my urges. I have been able to satisfy, but my body was still weak for a man. It was business as usual; I was getting myself off and as I began to get into it something just happened. “David.” I suddenly moaned and a surge ran through my body, a surge that I wanted more of, so I said it again and again and I damn near screamed it as I came all over myself. It was a moment of ecstasy followed by three hours of crying and shame in myself. I felt like I was betraying my people and turning my back on a part of my self and that didn’t just upset me, it pissed me off. No matter how much I tried I couldn’t take my mind off of him all I could do was curl up into a ball, hold back tears and try to calm my breathing down because I was harboring thoughts bigger than myself.

The next day of school I was on edge because I didn’t just have every class with David, we walked together, we ate lunch together and we were supposed to meet up and work on presentation for English after school. I was dealing with more of David than I can handle right now. When calculus class ended I speed out the door like a mad woman on a mission, I figured that if I could have the time between classes to recompose myself I would be able to get through the day, “One down and two classes to go.” I exhaled as I fumbled through my locker and then out of nowhere I felt someone kiss me on my neck and I instantly jumped and almost fell over. David caught me by the waist and pulled me to him, “Why are you so jumpy?”

I took another deep breath and closed my locker. “I didn’t get any sleep last night and I don’t like being snuck up on and violated,” And started down the hallway with David.

At he just grabbed my books and gave me look. “I guess I should have let your ass fall since you feel so violated by me.” He later said.

I rolled my eyes. “David I’ve had this conversation with you before, don’t kiss me on my neck. I don’t want anyone thinking we go out.”

“Everyone knows we don’t go out. It’s not like you don’t go out your way to announce it every chance you get!” We stopped in the middle of the hallway and continued to argue.

“It doesn’t matter David, I just don’t want you to kiss me on the neck!”

“Other dudes kiss on you and that’s fine, but I can’t?” David tried to back me into a corner.

“Well why don’t you kiss me on the cheek like everyone else?”

“Because I’m not everyone else and you know that!”

“It’s my body David! I shouldn’t have to argue with you about this.”

I waited for David to say something back, but he just grabbed my hand and dragged me into clear hallway as the bell rang. “Are you trying to get us in trouble?” I turned to walk away, but David grabbed me and pushed me up against the wall. “Did I do something to you?” He face was so close to mine we were about kiss. I folded my arms, “David, I already told you what’s wrong.” He decided to ignore my answer and pressed on. “Are you stressed? Worried about SAT’s? Midterms? Come on I know it has to be something because it’s making you break out.”

I sucked my teeth and try to push David out of the way. “Can you mo-”

David pinned me to the wall by my wrists, “I’m not trying to get you mad; I just want to know what’s wrong before we walk into class and make asses out of ourselves. Just tell me.” He said as he leaned in closer and closer to me until our lips were meeting each other’s cheeks and our breaths were running down each other’s neck. “Tell me.” David repeated as he kissed my forehead, my cheek and my-. I quickly put my head down. “It’s sleep deprivation.”

“You sure?”

“You’re crushing my hand with the book.”

David just dropped his arms and let me pass.

“Key, you there?,” Shani asked.

“Yeah I’m here, are you guys kidding?” I felt my heart sink into my chest. I have to spend all day with this guy and now I have to put myself in a compromising position because he doesn’t know how abstain from crazy women.

“You have to help him.” Kayla pleaded.

I sucked my teeth, “No I don’t.”

“You’re a bad friend.” Kayla said with her arms folded. “Listen.” we all leaned into each other as if we weren’t the only ones in the hallway. “I know you don’t want to do it, but it would be nice if you would put your pride aside and help David this one time.”

I gave it some thought. “Okay.”

“Okay.” Shani jumped up and down.

“Yeah, I guess.” I shrugged my shoulders in an effort to hide just how nervous I was.

“Well then…Let’s go.” Kayla dragged me down the stairs to David. “Okay I’ll get Leslie to come over this way and that’s when you guys can make with the fake relationship stuff.”

“Is this completely necessary?” I chimed in.

Kayla put my hand inside of David’s, “Very.” Shani shook her head in agreement then they both scurried off leaving David and I alone in what seem like an eternity of awkward silence, “You comfortable with this?” David asked me.

“I guess I don’t have a choice.” I turned away and crossed my arms. David reached out and pulled me to him. “I know it’s the last thing you want anybody thinking about us.”

“It’s okay.” I assured David. He wrapped his arms around my and leaned his forehead against mine. “You can bell if you want.”

“If you don’t shut up I’m going to take the hint and leave.”

“That’s not what I mean; I just don’t want to force you into anything.”

“You didn’t force me into anything.” I said. “I’m just surprised you didn’t ask me yourself.”

“I just didn’t want to put you through this.”

“It’s okay.” I assured him.

“Well in that case close your eyes.”

“Why?” I questioned.

“Just do it.” He tightened his grip on my waist.

“Okay Nike.” I remarked as I slowly closed my eyes.

I could feel David‘s hand caress my cheek and it made me nervous as hell. “You ready?”

“I guess, considering that I don’t know what it is I’m ready for.”

“Shh.” David gently pulled my chin forward and kissed me. He started off kissing me with just his lips and gradually added in his tongue. My body went crazy and my down there muscles were working overtime. David’s slid his hand into the arch of my back pulled me closer to him and then proceeded to lower his hand until he cupping my right cheek. I quickly broke away and started to walk away, but David grabbed my hand and calmly said, “Don’t break character.”

I gave David a confused look and almost asked David what the fuck he was talking about until I remembered why I was here with David in the first place. “Let’s go sit on the bench.”

I let David lead me as he sat down on the bench and motioned for me to sit on his lap. “Is all this necessary?” I asked. David just smiled reached his hand out and said. “I won’t bite…Not this time,” I ignored David’s comment looked back and seen that Leslie and two of her friends were now at the other end of the otherwise empty hallway with David and I. “Are the two friend supposed to make her look less conspicuous or less crafty?” I asked.

David pulled me into his lap. “Well we’re going to give her a show for her effort.”

“Not too much of a show…Remember other people can still come walking down this hallway.”

“I know, besides the show that I want to give her you wouldn’t consent to right now anyway.” David whispered in my ear.

“David.” I gave him a critical look.

“Sorry I won’t bring it up again.” David said with a very unapologetic smile before leaning in to kiss me again. I put a finger on his lips to halt him. “Don’t you ever grab my ass in public again, got it?”

“No one was here.” He defended himself.

“David, do you got it?” I asked again. He shook his head yes then I dropped my finger and we began devouring each other as we were still alone.

I could hear myself moaning and panting for more as if I had never been touched before. In my head I tried to compose myself and keep it together because I the last thing I wanted was for some white boy to think he has me wrapped around his finger. David became bolder and started to kiss down the right side of neck and caressing my left breast through my shirt. The pleasure I was experiencing made my body squirm and wiggle across David’s hard which drove me crazy. I’m about to cum I thought to myself as I moaned David’s name aloud. “Say it again.” He whispered in my ear and slipped his hand between my legs and began rubbing on my spot through my jeans. I quickly jumped out of David’s lap and looked back to see if Leslie and her friends were still there. They were gone and it was just the two of us alone in the hallway. I couldn’t tell what made me jump more, the thought of David being able to find some hidden message between my legs or that he just completely crossed the line with me and kind of liked it. “Why did you do that?” I yelled without realizing.

“You were into it so-”

“So what you just went in for the fuck?” I cut him off.

“I’m sorry I thought you wanted it.” He actually sounded sincere, which pissed me off even more.

“David what the fuck was we not supposed to be acting?”

“All that was acting?”

“You just disrespected me and all you care about is my acting, so if I really was into it you would’ve fucked me in the hallway for anyone to walk by and see.”

“If that was what you wanted yeah.”

“Can you stop proving everything I always thought about you right?”

“And what exactly is that?” David said with a look that appeared like he smelled something foul.

“That all I am to you is a piece of experimental ass. You just hang out with me so you can fuck me and then go brag to your rich white friends that you banging some foul mouth black chick! You like to act like you care about me so much, you should do what other white dudes do and go mess with the mixed and diluted black chicks that are crazy enough to take you seriously because I’m real sister and I am not going to fall for your shit.”

“Are you really going to do this shit again? I’m getting tired of this Key.”

“Tired of what?”
“Your racist bullshit, your constant mood swings, and you always tell me how bad I treat you because I’m white, but the black dudes sure aren’t treating you any better!”

I put my index finger on my chest. “So what are you saying it’s my fault?”

“Well it’s not mine.”

“Okay.” I said kind of shocked. “You don’t have to worry about my mood swings or me shoving your racist ways in your face because I removing myself from your life.” As I started to walk away David called out, “after tomorrow!”

“What?” I turned to look at him.

“We have a presentation to work on today and present tomorrow. After that I don’t care what the fuck you do.”

“We don’t need to get together to get an A.” I said.

“Yes we do, you know we set the bar too high to walk in tomorrow and half ass an English assignment.”

“Well here’s a thought how about we do the assignment separate and then tell the teacher we went our separate ways as friends?”

“Mrs. Thomas is not going to go for that shit, so our studying session tonight stands.”

“And that’s all?” I asked, but not waiting for him to answer me.

(Knock! Knock, knock, knock!) “Who the hell?” I said getting up out of bed?

I checked my reflection in the hall mirror on the way to the door. (Knock! Knock, knock, knock!) “It better be the police.” I looked through the peep hole and sucked my teeth. “Close enough.”

“I realize when I talk, that you take don’t listen.” David said, when I opened the door.

“So why do you continue to talk then?” I left him at the open door.

“Get dressed. We’re going to my place.” David walked in and shut the door behind him.
“What’s wrong with my house?”

“Where are your parents?” David whispered.
“They went to lunch; they will be back in a little bit.”

“That’s what’s wrong!” David nearly shouted. “I don’t need your dad making us work in the living room, then sitting between us watching TV and pretending he mistaken and hit me when you’re not looking. Not to mention he has your little brother in on it.”

“He doesn’t do that.”

“Just get dressed my parents are away, so we’ll be alone.”

“I don’t want to be alone with you.” I started down the hallway.

“I know you’re scared to be alone with me, but that’s a personal problem.” “Shut up.” I threw on a dress and some slides and we headed out there door.

I must admit something special happens when David and I work together. We always try to one up each other and end up producing something really amazing. In the end we made up a whole play based on two friends arguing whether Gatsby was a hopeless romantic or a pathetic idiot. David argues that he was pathetic for going after the woman he loves; while I argue that his hope is justified. The friends use the symbols from the story in their debate to ultimately find out they’re arguing their own relationship. David wants to profess his love to me, but thinks I won’t reciprocate his feelings; while I’m dropping hints to him that I want us to be more than friends, but scared of making the first move. “When Mrs. Thomas puts up the 1 minute sign, that’s when we wrap up the argument and go back to the script.” I said.

“Then I ask you to be my girlfriend, you say yes, we hug, over.” David got up from the bed and walked towards the door. “I’m going to the kitchen, you want anything to drink?”

“I’ll take water, please.”

When David returned he had two small bowls of ice cream instead of water. He handed me a bowl. “Vanilla for you and chocolate for me.” he sat down next to me. “Mr. Pearson are you trying to fatten me up with sweets?”

“If I was your ass will blow up and you won’t be able to get to through the door.” He began to laugh at his own joke.

I playfully pushed David, “That’s not funny.”

“It is how I think about it.”

“You need to stop looking at my ass.”

“Hey, I have already tried. It doesn’t work.”

“Did you really?”

“No.” David smiled then took a deep breath. “You know you get on my nerves at times-” I went to say something back, but David put his thumb over my lips to stop me before continuing. “But I don’t think you deserve to be mistreated, but I wish you would stop picking projects and start picking men. I know you’re probably going to follow through and really not talk to me for a few weeks, but you know I don’t mean to disrespect you or treat as less for any reason. I also think you have a problem and me being around only makes things worse, so it would be best if we weren’t friends anymore.”

“What?” I said in amazement and dismay. “I don’t get you, do you want us to pretend like today didn’t happen or do you want us to end?”

David turned his ear to me and leaned in. “Us what?” He asked as if he was waiting for me to say something.

“Our friendship!” I said.

He just gazed at the door and said. “It’s what’s best for you?”

I hopped up out the bed and started to back my things. “You’re right because I don’t want any of what you think is good for me.”

“Don’t be-”

“Can you please, I’m leaving.” I scooped up my bag and threw it over my shoulder.

“Let me at least take you home.”

“I don’t need you to drop me home! What I need you to do is commit to what you’re saying and never speak to me again.” I slipped on my shoes and stomped down the hallway. David sped ahead of me and blocked my exit out of the hallway. “This was not supposed to happen.”

“Oh when you tell people that you don’t want to talk to them, do they usually stay.”

“Can you just shut up and listen to me?”

I tried to squirm pass David, but he kept stopping me from passing. “I don’t want to listen to you. I just want to leave.” This time I attempted to charge pass David, this time he grabbed me and picked me up. “If you don’t listen to me, I will tell.” David put me back down.

“Tell what?” I folded arms.

David just stared at me for a moment. “You know what?”
“You wouldn’t?” I said.

He just shrugged his shoulders. “It really doesn’t bother me. It looks really good on my part.”
I shook my head in disbelief. “I hate you.” I said in calm voice before going back to the bedroom. I pulled out my phone and texted everyone my where about just in case this dude plan was to kill me.

I took my seat back on the bed and waited for David who walked in shortly after me. “You know it’s crazy that I have to black mail you to get you to listen to me?” David said as he closed the door behind him. I didn’t respond. I just folded my arms and stared at the floor in silence. He sat down next to me and stared at me. “I wasn’t going to tell. I have no reason to and you know I’m not the bragging type.”

“Can I leave now?”

“Well I don’t want you to.” He reached his hand out to rub my back, but I shrugged it away.

“Now you going to sit here and pout like I did you so wrong.”

I looked up at David. “Every time I say something you don’t like, you sulk and you end our friendship, but I’m not complaining.”

“The easy way to say it would be I want us to be friends David.”

“Do you plan on holding me captive all night?” I said and then turned away.

“I’m sorry. I just wanted to get a reaction out of you and of course I still want to be your friend. I’ve dealt with your shit for so long that it wouldn’t make sense to get rid of you now.”

“Yeah I’m not tired of you yet either.”

David smiled and kissed me on the cheek. “You just can’t make the first move, can you?”
“I don’t want to give you anymore material to brag about.” I said.

“Hey now,” He placed his hands on my knee. “I promise not do it again, also I promise today at lunch will never happen again. I just got a little carried away and at that moment it felt right. I would not have done it if I would have known how you would react.”

“It’s okay.” I placed my hand on David’s cheek and let it slide down his chest. I felt he hand that started out on my knee slowly creeping up dress in long streaks. I didn’t look down because I knew if I did I would have to address the situation. David leaned in and kissed my forehead, then my cheek and finally my lips. “I don’t know if I’m ready for this.” I said.

“Okay.” David took off his shirt and laid across the bed. “I’ll wait.”

“How long do you expect to wait?”

“However long it takes?”
“What if I wanted to wait a few days are you going to wait with your shirt off laid across the bed with a hard on.”

“Semi hard on, there is definitely more to come.”

“Is there now?”

“You know there is.”

“Of course I do, so show it to.” I leaned over and started to devour his mouth. I ran my hand down his chest, kissed down his abs and I licked along his V cut, while I undid his jeans.

Once I unbuckled his jeans and pulled them all the way off along with his underwear. David just laid back with his hands behind his head and watched me.

I got on the full size bed and crawled to David and took the light pink head into my mouth. I sucked on the head for few moments before taking in as much of his dick as I could savoring him in long hard sucks. David pushed my dress up around my waist and started caressing my ass before fingering me.

I sucked on David for a few more minutes before he stopped me. “You know I love when you go down on me, but I want to be inside.” He paused to kiss me. “Please.”

I shook my head yes. “Okay.”

David smiled. “Good.” Like magic a condom appeared in his hand and I watched intensively as he slid on the condom. Then he guided me onto his lap where I received his hard. I began moving my hips as David sucked on my breast, before long we were going all out causing the head board to shake violently against the wall. A little after we stopped one of David’s neighbors called to check if he was okay. It turns out the window were open and yes his room faces the street. Later we cuddled and talked and every now and then David would plant a kiss on my neck, he knew it was my sensitive spot and that it sent chills down my body. “Thank you.” David said before planting another kiss on my neck.

“What for?” I asked innocently. David pulled me closer to him and ran his hand up my thigh, “For honoring me with you.” I tried to hold back my smile, but I was a sucker for a compliment especially when it was coming from David.

“In that case you are very welcome.”

Well somewhere between sooner and later I took a shower and David lotion and help me get dressed before dropping me off home.
